I believe...

• the Bible is the Word of God and is completely true and without error
• that God has revealed Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit--One God in three Persons
• that Jesus Christ, God the Son, left heaven and came to earth as a man to live a perfect life and die for sinners
• that after three days in the grave Jesus rose from the dead and latter ascended back to heaven
• that Jesus will return some day (it could be today) to rule as King of kings and Lord of lords
• that salvation is the sovereign work of God's grace by which the sinner is enabled by the Holy Spirit to repent of sin and place faith in Jesus alone
• that all who are truly saved are saved eternally, never to be lost again.

There are, of course, many more important doctrines and I would be glad to send you a more complete statement of faith upon request.  Those who are interested may find it helpful to look at a detailed statement adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention in 2000 called The Baptist Faith and Message. 

I have served as pastor in Southern Baptist Churches in Illinois, Kentucky, and Tennessee since 1973.  In December of 2007 I moved to Laurel, MD to become the pastor of Faith Baptist Church.
